Witchcraft Heights Elementary School is a leader in literacy instruction within the district. Our highly trained staff has been recognized for their outstanding work through the Comprehensive School Reform Demonstration Grant. Literacy efforts include a ninety minute block with support at all levels from literacy, ESL and Special Education personnel. We maintain a Title I parent outreach that offers evening programs to parents on the topics of MCAS, literacy, and Eureka.
The school underwent an extensive renovation in 2001-03 during which an additional wing was added as part of the construction project. The school is located in the heart of the lovely Witchcraft Heights neighborhood. It boasts a beautiful gymnasium, large cafeteria and one of the loveliest library/media centers in the district. In addition, we have a Science Lab, Art Room and kiln, Music Suite, and a Computer Lab. The outside play area includes a basketball court and play structure. The facility reflects our theme that all subjects are valued , essential to learning, and help to create well rounded students who maintain an appreciation of the arts and sciences, are proficient readers and mathematicians, and who are good citizens of the school community.
A computer lab with 26 computers, an additional 19 computers in the library, and five computers in each classroom make for state of the art technology offerings at each grade level.
